| nocarlsoncraft's Full Review: Carlson Craft |
For many years, Carlson Craft was known for their high-quality printed products, particularly wedding invitations. However, after a change in upper level management, things have steadily gone downhill. Carlson Craft has begun using low quality stocks on many items.
Over the past two years, not only has the quality of Carlson Craft products gotten worse, the number of Production Errors has quadrupled. Many orders have to be reprinted 2 or 3 times, before they get it right. Since the change in management, the error rate has gone as high as 10% of all orders. Orders that used to take 2 days to complete now take as long as 2 or 3 weeks. Orders are constantly "lost" in their system and must be re-submitted.
Many long-time Carlson Craft Dealers have dropped the product line and found other vendors that are more dependable. This is exactly what our company did. We were spending more time dealing with angry customers and issuing refunds than we were processing orders. Even when an error is clearly on Carlson Craft's part, it takes an Act of Congress to get an adjustment approved or to get them to upgrade shipping to make up for time lost because they "lost" an order.
After working with Carlson Craft and reselling their products for over ten years, the decision was made to discontinue selling their products, as it simply isn't worth it. Our company is a high volume Dealer, that handles multiple brands.
To anyone considering purchasing Carlson Craft Products or becoming a Carlson Craft Dealer, think long and hard before doing so. We have seen many brides put in the position of having no invitations to send when the time comes, because Carlson Craft can't seem to get an order printed correctly or on time. While many orders are done right the first time, you won't know if yours will be one of them.
Until billionaire owner Glen Taylor steps in and takes a close look at what is going on in the company, it probably won't get any better. Although Mr. Taylor can afford to lose a couple of million dollars per month without feeling any pain, one would think that he would finally have enough of an incompetent company President who fills Management Positions based solely on friendship rather than the ability to manage.
It's rather sad to see a company that once was "the best" deteriorate to its current state.
