My Camera Comes:
.....I just bought the veo palm camera for my Tungsten T. I was amazed at how fast it was up and going. I just slid the camera into the expansion slot and I was instantly taking pictures. You don't need a desktop in order to use it either. I went out looking across the internet for a camera for my Tungsten T. I came across this one on one website and did some research on it determine if it was a good camera or just some gig piece of junk. I was content with my findings and set out to find it for a reasonal price. The Camera is about A hundred bucks if you were to purchase it at a computer store.
The PDA Software:
.....The Veo Palm Camera is ready to take pictures from the second you put the camera in the expansion slot, before installing software on the desktop. There will be an icon placed on the home screen. You will need to make sure that the camera piece is upward. PDAs that have the expansion slot on the side will have to be held sideways in order to take photos.
.....When you click on the icon, or stick the camera in, the Veo program will start. The thumbnail page will come up first. This is where all the photos are shown, each being about a centimeter wide. A photo can be enlarged by tapping on it with the stylus, or in my case a finger. This will make it about the size of the screen. A picture can be easily deleted from the computer by tapping the picture and then tapping the trashcan at the bottom of the screen.
.....Along the bottom of the thumbnail page are four functions. First, is the beam feature. This will allow you to send a photo to another palm computer with the veo software, and if they don't have the software, just pop the camera into their slot and then take it out. The time it takes to send a photo depends on the computer that is doing the sending, usually between a couple seconds to about twenty seconds. I have of yet to use this feature. I can't find anyone with a PDA where I live.
.....If you are able to hotsync your PDA with a desktop, you will be able to email photos to friends and family. A program called PIXER, separate from Veo, allows this. It is a free trial, if you like it, buy it. If not, you can hotsync your PDA with a desktop and see the pictures on the desktop. From Palm Desktop, you can email simply.
.....The third button along the bottom is the Preferences key. Here, you will be able to turn the sound effects on and off, adjust photo resolution and image resolution, set exposure (or set to auto), and see how many photos can be taken according to the available memory on the PDA. A 16MB PDA can store between 40 and 60 high quality photos or 160 to 220 lower resolution photos.
.....The last button to click is the camera button. Clicking on this brings the camera to life. A screen will come up about the size of a screen on a normal digital camera. This is a live view, or a second late, of what you're aiming at. By tapping the live display, you can toggle between a large screen and a little screen. The little screen is great if you wish to have a faster refresh rate of the picture. The refresh rate is about 2-4 frames per second. This isn't to bad since its only for still pictures. When you have the picture in frame, just tap the camera icon on the screen or press one of the outer hard keys on the PDA to take a picture. The snapshot comes up on the entire screen. The quality is superb on hi-res palms. There is an X and a check at the bottom. If you don't like the picture, you can press the X to delete it. Or if you like it, press the check to save it. If you click save, the picture will come up in the thumbnail page.
Veo Photos That I Took:
.....I have read a few reviews on other websites about the Veo Palm Camera. Some users have complained that the picture quality was bad or that the picture was blury. Well, that is just because they are a bunch of idiots that don't know how to work it. I have taken many a picture with this camera and thequality was excellent. So to let you see just how good the pictures are, I took some pictures around my apartment, hotsynced them, and put them on the internet to show you. First, open another browser window (click the internet explorer or netscape button on your desktop to keep the one). Then, copy and paste the following URL to the address bar and click go: HERE

Make sure you copy the entire link. Once you're at the site, click on a picture to see a larger view of it. And now you can see just how the picture quality is of the Veo Palm Camera.
Desktop Software:
.....The desktop software is a lot more than just a photo center. With this CD that comes with the Veo camera, you can creat e-cards, design a homepage for the internet, view photos from your PDA, after hotsyncing of course, and make movies and slide shows. It only takes a minute to install. You can also View simple instructions for both the software for the desktop and palm. You'll need Adobe Reader to read the Guide. If you don't have this program, it is on thie disk and you can chose to install it, too.
.....The e-cards creator is a simple program to creat cards to print or email to friends. You can chose from an array
of card designs or create your own from scratch. There is a selection of music themes that come with the program that you can add on a card to email. It will also allow you to create an audio clip recording if you have a microphone. First, you chose a template, or blank project. Next, you change the text if you wish. You can drag pictures from the gallery that hangs along the right side of the screen. You can also put a movie clip on it. When you're done, just fill out the email form of whom you wish to send it.
.....Sorry, but I don't have any information about the movie maker. I I know is you can create a slide show with it using the photos you downloaded from the PDA or whatever.
.....The homepage designer is an easy 4-step process to creating a beautiful webpage in no time at all. There is a lot you can do with this section of the software. Photos, movies, text and audio clips can be put on your pages. You can create links to the other pages or to outside websites without the complex hassle of using HTMLs.
Thats All Folks
.....So with the Veo Palm camera, you get much more than a camera. You can create cards, movies and slideshows, webpages and so much more. I have no dislikes about this item. So if you're looking for a new addition to your palm handheld, the Veo Traveling Camera is the right choice to make. Don't forget to check it out on
www.ebay.com for the best price.
