| kwsbanker's Full Review: Palm V™ |
The Palm V is the answer to a busy person's dilemma - how to keep track of all the appointments/addresses/phone #'s and to-do's in one neat, tidy, SMALL, compact location.
The best thing about the Palm V (over all other handheld Palms) is its ability to recharge through the rechargable battery and AC adapter. The only thing it doesn't do (but will soon) is be able to connect to the Internet (like the Palm VII).
I've owned a few - the Palm (original), Palm III, Palm VII, and now the V. The other nice thing about the V is that it is slimmer and sleeker than the others, and comes (for extra charge)with a sleek looking aluminum protective case. This is a great gadget that is NOT a toy, but rather a necessity.
What does it do? Addresses, phone numbers, to do list, memo list, infra-red transfers (from Palm to Palm), and the almighty calendar, including recurring appointments, yearly dates, and the ability to "privatize" your personal goings on! What's more, there are so many sites on the web these days, you can download a tremendous amount of shareware or freeware software made specifically for the Palm. Games, utilities - you name it, they've got it! Email me for some of the more utilitarian Palm sites!
This is a must for anyone who is busy, or who doesn't want to lug around that horrible filofax for the rest of their lives. What's more, if you lose it (god forbid), you've already downloaded the information to your computer (in the blink of an eye) so while you might have lost your Palm, you haven't lost your information!. I download this info to my computer at work as well as my personal home computer, just in case! It never hurts..
3Com continues to dominate the handheld marketplace. This one is a winner!
