I bought a Cannon BJC 2000 for my significant other's computer a few months ago. Knowing that she was not going to do a whole lot of printing, I didn't want to spend a bunch of money. For the price I paid, the BJC 2000 does a great job.
I found the BJC 2000 online for $95 with a $30 mail in rebate. For $65 dollars out the door, you really can't go wrong. Sure it smudges the paper every once in a while, but you can't expect perfect printing for this price. Along with the printer I purchased the Cannon IS-22 scanner cartridge. After rebate, I spent only ten bucks on it. It's a fun toy to play around with, but by far not a flat bed scanner.
On the negative side, the BJC 2000 has frequent paper jams. The black and white pages print pretty quick and have a great overall appearance. The color pages are much slower, and tend to look pretty fuzzy and blurred.
If you are looking for a high quality printer for great color images and fast printing, you had better look else where. If you want a great printer and an optional scanner cartridge for the kiddos or for light use, you might want to consider this one.
