| foureyes68's Full Review: Lexmark Jet Z11 InkJet Printer |
When the LexMark Z11 came out, I bought one. It only cost me $59.99, and I thought it was the greatest thing next to sliced bread. Well, I should have bought more bread.
This printer comes with only one ink cartridge, and if you want to print a document that is only black and white, it takes a long time because it has to feed each color separately to get the black.
But if you have a black and white document with color pictures in it, you can do one of two things--you can set the printer to print just the black first, then the color (this requires switching out the cartridges and then aligning them). Or, you can just go ahead and print, and have to wait for the black to print anyway.
This printer is too time consuming--especially for those that have to print multi-page documents. Unless you want to do things while it's printing--like take a shower, clean the house, walk the dog.
Besides the slowness of printing, the voice prompt for the feeder tray is wacky. No matter how many times you set the paper into it, it will still tell you to put it in. The Compaq ink jet I reviewed does it only once.
So, while this printer can do many of the things that other printers on the market can, it takes too much time to do them. I'd stay away from this one.
