| davem3's Full Review: Hewlett Packard CD-Writer Plus 9200i CD-RW Burner |
i love my new hp cd-writer because the speed is unbelevable and i have had absolutly no errors.
also it is nice to be able to burn cd's while i am doing other tasks which i was not able to do when i had the old hp6200 parellel port cd burner i used to own ( it was nice to for entry level but not for the level of burning i do )without crashing my system
this particular model requires some serious knowledge of computers and is not the easiest to install and get going since you first need to install ans set up a scsi card first but it is worth the effort .
i bought and installed the adaptec aha-2930u second generation scsi card since it was made with cd writers in mind and can transfer 40meg/sec without breaking a sweat. i know that is overkill but like i said i have had absolutly no problems no errors and buffer overruns/underruns at all!!! well worth it since the final result was way beyond what i expected.
i get 8x write /4x rewrite/and 32x read not bad for a burner at all :-)
i also installed the adaptec easy cd creator 4.0 cd writer program and love it because it is so easy to use and i love the fact i can do multi cd' (combine audio and data cd's together on one disc)
i can now back up my system in a matter of about an hour compared to the 16 hours it used to take with a tape backup system and i love making my own special cd's i share with the kids since we can now make them in any order we wish with only the songs we want on them
if you are a serious techie and you want some awesome power and speed well look no further this is the product for you
:-)
