The Bottom Line: Spend the extra money and get a scanner on which you can rely!!!! This one isn't worth it!!!!!

This is the first scanner I ever purchased, and chose HP because I wanted a reliable product. When I was able to get the scanner at a great price I jumped at the chance. At first the scanner worked just fine, then the third time I tried to use it I got error messages (scanner can't find the computer) and wasn't able to scan a thing. I tried tightening the connections, unplugging and then replugging the plugs, and uninstalling and then re-installing the software. Nothing worked. Then I figured I'd just call the toll free number for tech support/customer support!
To my great surprise and dismay, there is no toll free number. If you want to contact customer/tech support, you have to make a toll call, and then they want to charge you for the help!!!!!!!!
After ignoring the scanner for a few months, I tried it again and it worked for a while, and now isn't working again! I will never buy another HP product!!!!!!
