Pros: Good service, but don't expect much money.
Cons: Referrals seem to be incredibly difficult.

This new program is an Internet Service Provider (ISP) offering a unique program: for each new user you send them, they give you $5/month. When you sign up for the program you also sign up for their Internet access; that costs $15/month, so if you send them three users, you get your Internet access free, and for each user after that you receive $5 each month. Their program extends to 6 levels, with $.15/month payouts at levels 2-5 and $1.00 at level 6 (which you will see very little of unless you get tremendous amounts of referrals, but I suppose it's possible since this is a pretty new company.) Although the 2nd through 5th level payouts are aggravatingly low, the $5/month for direct referrals is fairly enticing. I was very excited about this program at first and put it on most of my sites for about a month; but after about 100,000 exposures, I had only gotten two signups. That's pretty pitiful, but I suppose it would almost be worth it if those signups actually stayed members and the rate continued. However, both of them bailed out after a month and I have since given up on the program. In all honesty I wouldn't promote this proram unless your website is targeted to a decent percentage of webmasters, and even then it's difficult to get signups.
However, if you are simply looking for Internet access, VFI isn't too bad. They have a good selection of access numbers that cover even fairly small cities, their technical support is fairly quick, and they don't lose connections left and right like other services I've used, namely America Online and Earthlink. You do have to set up your connection and e-mail account manually, but you are given step-by-step instructions with actual screen shots of the process so this is a fairly minor difficulty even for computer newbies. If you just want web access, VFI is better than most.
