Peachtree Accounting version 7.0 is a true waste of money and valuable time. As a new business owner I searched high and low for a good software program that would allow me to customize it to my company's needs. Peachtree Accounting Version 7.0 looked like the solution boy was I wrong.
Opening the package and seeing all the books included with the software worried me from the start, I was looking for something rather easy to install and set-up. After carefully reading every manuel I was ready to go, or so I thought. With this software the company requires that you register it or it will lock up the program on you.
This challenge proved to be more than I bargained for, trying to reach anyone on the 1-800 number was a wasted effort. So I thought I will be sensible and use the online registration after six attempts and each time having their program lock up on me I finally got the product registered.
Then came the real challenge trying to customize this to suit my business needs. The business I run is a daycare so on the invoices it states Airbourne shipping and interest rates, which as anyone running a daycare knows I do not need or want on my invoices. Fed up I decided to call customer support to see if maybe I overlooked something explaining how to customize this software. When reaching the customer support line I was informed by the operator that just speaking to a representative would cost me $50.00 on a major credit card, and then if my call was over a half hour I would be charged an additional $100.00 to my credit card.
Maybe I come from the old school, but it seems to me I just spent $120.00 on their software you would think they would be eager to help their customers out. Wrong.
As a customer and as a business owner I have tried to look at this situation rationally, but I still come to the same conclusions. Peachtree Accounting Version 7.0 was truly a waste of my company's money and a waste of the countless hours it took me to add all my customers and vendors.
If you are looking into purchasing this software I highly recommend that you look into Quick Books or any other software program then Peachtree Software.
