The campus of East Tennessee State University is very impressive. Sometimes when going to a particular school you tend to take for granted how the campus is arranged. I have a very hard time finding my way around big places and have no sense of direction. I picked things up fairly quickly here, though. The arrangement of the buildings is extremely convenient. And there's a van that makes round trips around the campus to every building, which is a very convenient factor.
The ETSU campus itself is absolutely beautiful. There are many different types of flowers and trees all over the place. Walking around on campus are squirrels, ducks, and rabbits. At certain times and at certain places it seems like you're walking through a park. It's extremely well maintained and cared for wonderfully.
As far as safety goes, it's hard to find a campus as good as this one. Public Safety is on call 24 hours. The people at public safety are friendly and respectful. If you feel unsafe for any reason, you just let them know and they'll try to work something out. They're also available to unlock your car if you've locked your keys in or jump start your car with a battery pack for no charge. They patrol the roads of the campus frequently, and campus security walks around at night just to be sure that nothing's going on.
I've been at ETSU less than a year. I feel incredibly safe and secure, and I haven't had any problems with any aspect of the campus thus far.
