Sony Compact Disc Player CDP-CE335 1/3 of an awesome system
This is going to be a three part Epinion. I will be writing reviews on the three parts of our new Sony Stereo System. (The Receiver, The Cassette Deck and the CD Player.) I am starting off by writing about the CD Player.
I bought my Sony System at Sears over a year ago, so I have had plenty of time to enjoy this system and form an opinion on this product, based on my experience.
This review is on the Sony Compact Disc Player CDP-CE335. First off, let me start by saying I am really happy with this entire system. Sony has put out a great product here of high quality sound and a very sophisticated style.
Display
Playing Time and Total number of tracks-
If you press TIME before you start playing, the display will show you the current disc number, the total playing time and the music calendar.
All Discs-
There will be the numbers 1 2 3 4 and 5 listed on the screen. A red circle will appear around the current disc that is being played. ****When the red circle appears, the disc is ready to be played.
Current Disc Number-
Below the "all discs" the actual number of the disc that is being played will appear.
Total Number of Tracks-
The Total number of tracks will appear beside the Current disc number. This tells the tract that is being played.
Total Playing Time-
This displays the total playing time of the CD being played.
Music Calendar-
This is where the selected songs are put in the proper order (You decide which songs you want to play and when). ****The track numbers in the music calendar disappear after they are played. The only bad thing is that Tracts numbered over 20 cannot be displayed in the music calendar.
Replacing Discs While Playing a Disc
This is a really neat feature of this CD Player. You are able to open the disc tray while playing a disc so that you can check what discs are to be played next or to replace discs without interrupting playback of the current disc. Isn't that cool??? I am really tickled by this feature. I am always wanting to change things around and with this, I am able to do it easily without interrupting the play. Directions on the "correct way" to do this are in the Users Manuel. Once you get the hang of it, it is very simple.
Locating a Specific Disc
You are able to skip over to the next disc, a specific disc, or by actually scanning the first track of each disc for 10 seconds to find the song you want. You are able to perform this by using the Disc Skip and Disc Check buttons which are located on the panel of the CD Player.
Locate a Specific Track or a Particular Point in a Track
You can quickly locate any track while playing a disc by using the Automatic Music Sensor. (This button is labeled AMS on the panel.) You can also locate a specific point in a a track while playing a disc.
Let me add that this is a remote control CD player. So, all the functions that I am listing above and continue to list can all be controlled from the remote!!!)
Playing Repeatedly
You can play discs/tracks repeatedly in any play mode. All you do is press the REPEAT button while playing a disc. Below are the list of the player repeats:
• Continuous Play- All Discs
(The Player repeats all the tracks on all the discs)
• Continuous Play- 1 Disc
(The player repeats all the tracks on the current disc)
• Shuffle Play- All Discs
(The player repeats all the tracks on all discs in random orders)
• Shuffle Play- 1 Disc
(The player repeats all the tracks on the current disc in random orders)
• Program Play
(The player repeats the same program) This is really neat too. With Program Play you can create your own program!
Recording Your Own Program
You can record the program you've created on a tape. You can program it to contain up to 32 steps.
Fading In or Out
You can manually fade in or out to prevent tracks from starting or ending abruptly. (This is great for when trying to make a customized tape of all your favorite songs!!)
Sound
It sounds good to me. I am definitely not a high tech junkie, so some things like describing sound, etc... may be better left to them. But what I can say is that this CD player has provided me a clear and clean sound with minimal to no static at all. Compared to any other stereo I have owned, this one has sounded the clearest to me.
I purchased My Sony Compact Disc Player CDP-CE335 at Sears for $139.99. After having time to use this CD player for some time now, I have really come to like it. At first I was a little overwhelmed with how everything works, but once I got an understanding of everything, it has been a piece of cake. Quick and simple to operate.
I am very happy with this product. I would definitely recommend the Sony Compact Disc Player CDP-CE335 to someone who is in the market for purchasing a CD Player for simple home use. There are many others out there that are a little more High Tech and Complex, but this is perfect for in home use of playing CD's on a daily basis. This is a Great CD System all around.
