Before the advent of the Sony MZ-R900,
I owned six other MD's, them ranging from
the MZ-R55 to MZ-E800
and in all my obeservation with the Sony product line,
have i seen such beauty and performance than with the MZ-R900.
Being the only one in its class to record discs in the new MDLP format,
you can record up to 110 songs with sacrificing minimal quality.
Here's a breakdown of the encoding techniques of the MZ-R900:
Stereo (ATRAC) - 292 Kbps - 80 mins.
Mono (ATRAC) - 292 KBps mixed audio - 160 mins.
LP2 (ATRAC3) - 132 KBps - 160 mins.
LP4 (ATRAC3) - 66KBps - 320 mins.
And plus, the max battery life is 66 hours (with attached AA battery)
and max recording time is 21 hours!
NEW: End Search button is now optional, letting you automatically record from the end of the disc! No more erasing the track you last played!
Also, Sony must really love those jog dials, so they put in 2 of them this time! one for the menu, another for the play controls
You can also program specific tracks to play! Say goodbye to the CD Player!
Also: Mega Bass is replaced by DIGITAL SOUND PRESET, where you can adjust your own sound settings!
And last,but not least, there is variable speed control, where you can play a song twice as slow and twice as fast! Now you can compose your own lyrics sheets!
So now, previous owners of the MZ-R55, eliminate the playing time of 4 hours and max it out to 66 hours with this one!
Now the RM-MZR55 was replaced by the RM-MZE1 and then again replaced by the RM-MC11EL, which you pull the switch to change volume settings and push and turn to access playback controls! Its way cool if you get it!
