| ericgreene's Full Review: Rio Rave MP2050 MP3 Player |
About 6 months ago I was browsing ebay and came upon the RaveMP 2000. It was cheap; and I bought it.
From the moment I plugged in the headphones and played the demo song that came with the player... I was disappointed.
Many reviewers seemed to play down/not notice the buzzing... but it was awful! At a low volume, the buzz over powered the music. Even when I plugged in my high quality Sennheiser Classic HD490 headphones... the buzz seemed to ruin the sound... ah well, there must be something good about these right? Right?
The features on this such as Memo... are pointless. If you are transferring text from computer to computer, you could simply upload a text file...
It may not seem like much, but unplugging and replugging your printer each time you use the RaveMP will get old after a while. Uploads take FOREVER.
Don't plan on using your RaveMP in the dark either... it has no light.
Oh, and don't think you can run out to Best Buy and pick up flash memory for it... you have to buy a special memory card made by Sensory Science.
Oh yeah, did I mention it has no FM radio? (Nomad II does)
By the way... after 4 months of owning this product, it broke on me. I dropped it on the floor and It no longer turns on.
My advice... get the Nomad II if you want a high quality low-cost mp3 player and a whole lot more. The RaveMP is just not worth it.
