| lobster4lunch's Full Review: Sony Walkman D-E200 Personal CD Player |
Planning a trip to South Carolina with my family, I decided I had to buy a new portable CD player to avoid listening to my brother and sister on the long drive. With 55 dollars in my pocket, I went to Best Buy. After looking at many portable CD players I decided to go with a brand I trust, Sony.
That was over a year ago and I still haven't had any problems with my Discman.
The ESP2 shock protection system works great and unlike other CD players I've owned(GPX), This system doesn't take long to charge up. It doesn't skip from even the most severe abuse. I can bang on it and even ride my bike without ANY skipping.
The Mega Bass bass boost system works but with the bad headphones, the the sound gets too distorted at high volumes.
The headphones it came with are best described as below average for a Sony. They don't offer quality sound at even low volume and it gets worse as it gets louder. I recommend that anyone who purchases this CD player buys better headphones.
The player it's self isn't very heavy or bulky and is easy to use. I have dropped it numerous times while riding and it still operates like new. My complaints are few and mostly irrelavent but here they are: No line out jack.(just headphone jack) It has no separate pause button so you have to hit stop. When you press play, it resumes where you left off. It takes to long to resume after stopping. And finally, the annoying beeps when you change tracks. Thats it.
All in all, this is a great CD player for the money.
