I bought Uniden EXS2010 Digital Spread Spectrum Cordless from Amazon.com. It was actually on sale for $49.95 which was a great deal so I took advantage of it.
We live in a small town and ever since I have been here I have had to put up with static, echoes and even other voices on the phone while I am having a conversation. After 15 years, I had kind of got used to it. On the first call with this phone, it was very noticeable for me how quiet the line was and how clear the transmission was. Upon inspecting the box, I found that this phone had a 20 channel autoscan system. This allows it to automatically scan up to 20 channels and then selects the best channel to ensure a good transmission. It was so nice to be able to speak and listen without any interference.
I did, however, notice that it was a little boxy, like you are in a box speaking to the other party. I have got used to this though and am very happy with it. The phone has 900 MHz performance which I am sure contributes to its clarity. The digital spread spectrum allows long range. I can actually use this phone, and I have tested it, a half block away from my home with no problem.
The lighted key pad is a must for me as my eyesight is not as good as it used to be. The ten number memory dialing is very handy and easy to use. This phone is also headset compatible.
Although the phone itself sits upward on its stand I have not noticed that it is harder to keep clean or that it is more difficult to retrieve than any other phone.
To sum up, when I bought this phone, I wasn't expecting its good quality or clarity, after all it didn't cost much at all. I consider myself lucky to have found such a bargain and would recommend this phone to anyone who is looking for quality at a low price.
