| Mimi369's Full Review: Bushnell Deep Space 78-9512 (420 x 60mm) Telescope |
When my son showed interest in the stars and planets, my husband purchased a telescope. It is a Bushnell Deep Space 420x high powered telescope. A family friend highly recommended it saying that he and his son greatly enjoy it.
We have a house in Upstate New York. Across the road from us are the woods. When night falls, a total blackness surrounds us. There are plenty of twinkling stars for the novice star gazer to observe. What I like most about this telescope is the variable height adjusting tripod. It allows both adults and children to easily and quickly toggle between desired heights.
Assembly was accomplished in about thirty minutes without too much effort. Very detailed instructions were provided which clearly explained in simple terms what each lens is designed to do. Included in this telescope is a Barlow lens which is used to double or triple the power of the telescope. Also included with this telescope is an Erecting lens which re-orients the image in the telescope. If you are viewing a celestial image, it would appear upside down in the eyepiece. The Erecting lens will properly orient the image in the eyepiece if you are viewing an object that is on land. This way, the object will appear right side up.
Perhaps the most outstanding aspect of the Bushnell telescope is the limited lifetime warranty. The warranty is limited to defects in workmanship. My husband and son can have many hours of risk free enjoyment and celestial exploration.
Maybe some day my son will find the answer to his most frequently asked question, "Are we alone in the universe?" Using this Bushnell Refractor Telescope will certainly keep him on the right path to finding out.
