Pros: The price I guess, after having checked at a couple of stores.
Cons: The ' EV ' display and instructions too technical for what you get.
The Bottom Line: Personally I would not have purchased this camera and I would not recommend it to friends or family.

| browndray's Full Review: RCA CDS1005 Digital Camera |
I received the " RCA CDS 1005 " as a gift . This is my first, but not last digital camera......the next one will be much better.
I still prefer SLR units, the ' old ? ' load the film, set and shoot, take film to store , send in, wait, pay for pictures & enjoy said prints. However, it seems that " Digital " is the current wave of technology.
I have a few complaints about the " RCA CDS 1005 ", as follows....
1. For no more than it (the camera) ' does ' , the instruction book is very lengthy.
2. The ' LED ' window on the back is very hard to see, especially the ' EV + & - DISPLAY '. I have trouble seeing where the + - symbols are located as well as their movement up and down the scale. You must repeatedly press the marked button to get the setting to switch from negative to positive.
3. The fact that you can get more photos on the ' N ' ( normal ) setting as compared to the ' F ' ( fine ) setting and with comparing these to the quality of the camera , it would have been better to have left it with only the ' N ' ( normal ) setting.
4. Both the built in Flash and the length of time the
battery lasts...... are disappointing.
All in all, as my first digital camera and the fact that I did not have to buy it ..... are about the only reasons that I will use this camera.
