Pros: DSP, DTS, multiple output types, below $200!
Cons: sensitive to DVD surface quality
The Bottom Line: Price, features, and playback quality are as good or better than anything in its class. For anything below high end Home Theatre, this one will suit you fine.

| Nate_Lee's Full Review: Hitachi DV-P305U DVD Player |
This is a good buy for someone who is getting into home theatre with a mid-level system, or someone who is replacing/complementing a vcr based setup. It has all the bells and whistles of more expensive machines, especially the output types (analog, component, s-video and optical)and onscreen zoom and scroll features. It plays cd's as well, it makes a fine single cd player. The remote is not bad, however the buttons are small and can be hard to operate if you are not familiar with the remote. If you do not own a DVD this is worth checking out on price alone. It all comes down to if you trust the Hitachi brand as this is a very competitive category. For under $200 its all you could want and more.
