| nate78's Full Review: Panasonic DVD-RV30 DVD Player |
It took me a while to make the transition from VHS to DVD, but once I did, I couldn't be more glad that I decided on the Panasonic.
I have always loved movies and own many VHS cassettes, but the problems with VCRs and tapes were getting in the way of my enjoyable movie-watching experience. My cousins have had DVD for years and couldn't say enough about it. I simply did not want to have to re-buy all my VHS titles on DVD. However, I asked for this model for Christmas (to eliminate my overhead in this transition), and will never buy a VHS again.
The picture quality is astoundingly clear. You may look at a VHS and think that it's okay, which it is. However, if you are a movie junkie like me, you are going to want the clearest picture you can get. Seeing the two side by side (my own home experiment), proved that nothing beats DVD. It is the same comparison you can make with audio tapes and CDs. The hissing you hear on a tape is what you get visually with the VHS.
This particular DVD player is so easy to use, and comes with a remote control just like a VCR. The picture quality is bright and crisp. The sound is clear and digital like it is at the movies.
My player cost $299.99. This is about what a good VCR cost when they were new to the market, I recall. Like all technology, with time the price is sure to drop if you think that is too much. However, when you see what the hassle-free Panasonic can do, you'll want one.
If you are in the market for a DVD playre, or are still unsure about DVD and are clinging to your VCR like a shipwreck survivor clings to a piece of driftwood, give the RV30 a test drive. You won't be disapointed.
