| alexmant's Full Review: Panasonic DVD-RV30 DVD Player |
This is another great gift I received for my 21st birthday (this one was from my wife… thank you baby).
I had a DVD-ROM on our computer for quite some time now, so we had a few movies on DVD. Yeah, the movies were great on the computer DVD, but after watching movies on a 30-inch TV screen after a 15-inch monitor, you'll feel the difference (plus you have all the control you could want with a remote control). The picture quality is so good you feel like you are in the movie that you are watching. This is how All DVD's should be. If you are watching a movie where there is a plane flying by, you feel like you are inside of the plane. I can't tell you how much I enjoy my DVD player. You get so much more out of movies this way. DVDs usually offer wide screen versions of movies, so that you can feel like you are at the movies, nothing cut to modify to your TV screen, director commentaries which are very interesting to watch or listen to, extra scenes (some of which didn't make it into the movie) and so many more special features. I am never going to buy a VHS again! (Don't like rewinding. LOL)
The remote is very easy to use. I didn't even have to refer to the instructions. The player is compatible with advanced functions available on some DVD disks such as parental control (which helps prevent children from watching movies with intense violence or profanity), multiple angles, and scene selections.
Not only can you watch movies on this great machine, you can also use it like a CD player and listen to your audio CDs.
Some features that my DVD player has include:
High Speed Loading and Resume
Twin-Wave Laser Pickup for CD/Video CD/CD-R playback - most DVD players don't play CD-Rs
Dolby® Digital and dts Digital Outputs - standard feature on virtually all players
Component Video Output
Still Play (Field or Frame with Auto)
Still Step Play Forward and Reverse
Slow Motion Playback - four speeds forward, one in reverse direction
Setup Navigator for First Time Setup
Advanced GUI(Graphical User Interface) with Non-Stop operation, Basic/Expert Mode
Program Memory (Chapter/Title) (DVD)
Resume Play (DVD, CD) - quick resume, about 3 seconds
Continue Play Memory (DVD,Video CD)
I love this player. Panasonic - like I said - it speaks for itself.
