| tman8383's Full Review: Philips CDR870 CD Recorder |
Of course everyone wants to copy CDs and make mixes. The question is, do you want to send over $600 to do it? Of course not and it's not necessary. I made the mistake of buying this recorder. Obviously it records great but
at $600 it better. The speed is realatively good, and i can't tell any difference between copy and original. The problem is price. In this day of computers, almost everyone has one. If you do, you'd be much wiser to invest in a recorder for the computer. Priced at about $200 these are much
more reasonable. I actually bought one for my computer. Not only is the speed and quality the same, but i can edit songs on my computer and put downloaded mp3s on mixes. Can a strictly audio cd recorder do that? No
way. Before buying a cd recorder look for one for the computer. If one for the computer is out of the question, 870BK is definately one to consider. With digital imputs for minidisc sources, and exceptional quality, it tops my list because for audio cd recorders, this one is relatively cheap.
