| remay's Full Review: Yamaha K-903 Single Cassette Deck |
The Yamaha K-903 deck was purchased after comparing Sony decks. I was able to get a better price, and I feel Yamaha will perform better overall, in the long run.
The deck is hooked to a Yamaha HTR-5250 A/V receiver. It is mainly used to play back existing "home grown" cassette tapes that had been recorded years ago. We have also used it to play back store bought tapes.
There have been no problems with the operation of the unit. The fidelity is acceptable playing back the old tapes, so the Dolby noise reduction used then must still be somewhat compatible.
The sound quality seems a little less for music that was recorded from a CD, than the actual CD itself (using a Panasonic DVD-CV50 player). But the music is still acceptable.
Functions are pretty much straight-forward and easy to use.
