| bfoomoney's Full Review: Panasonic PV-DV900 Mini DV Camcorder |
I was out looking for something to add to my growing list of electronic toys and the only thing that I could think of that wasn't on my personal inventory list was a video camera. My parents have one of the old, huge, video camcorders from more than 6 years ago, but I wanted something that would be easy to hold with only one hand and still operate all of the functions. I found everything I was looking for and more in this little technological wonder. I paid about $900 because it was on sale and I got a free carrying case with it as well so I couldn't pass up this deal of a lifetime. It's light weight, large color LCD display, compact size, wide range of options, and totally incredible 300x zoom are what grabbed my entire attention. The main hook was that it has the capability to work with my personal computer through a technology called "Firewire." For about $400 more I believe you can order a card you put in your computer, cable, and some awesome software and create your own home video presentations. This camera can certainly take a beating as well. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I dropped it twice now and it's working just as well as the day I got it. The battery life on it is amazing... you can also upgrade to an ion battery for another $200, but the one it comes with is just perfect. One of the best options is you don't need to get an adapter tape, it's got a VCR built right into it! I would recommend this to anyone looking for superb clarity and portability with almost every option imaginable. Panasonic has created the perfect unit for just about anyone wanting to get into video recorders!
