Well, I love taking pictures. I even had a few that were used in a Photo Studio. BUT, I don't like dragging cameras and equipment around. I moved to Europe for 2 years, and before I did so, I decided I wanted a point and shoot camera. I did some research on the net and decided on the Fuji Endeavor 400ixZoom.
After I bought this camera, my other expensive Nikon has stayed in the camera case. I can put this in my shirt pocket, tuck it into my coat, and pull it out quickly when I need to. It has a nice 25-100 zoom which I use all of the time. There are various flash settings, including a red-eye setting, which make it handy and give you some control when you need it.
The APS format is GREAT! If you're like me, you don't always organize your photos. Well now you don't have to! You drop in a film cartridge, and when its done, you take the cartridge to be processed. Same as with 35mm. However, when you pick up the film, the negatives remain in the film cartridge, which is also numbered. Each print comes back with the cartridge number and picture number stamped on the back, so you can quickly find out what you need when you want a reprint.
The quality of the prints is acceptable for 95% of my needs. It isn't great photography, but it is memories I want to make and share. I also love using the various formats, and people really love the Panoramic pictures I take.
The camera itself is very simple. The controls are easy to use, and well placed. It sits comfortably in my hand, and zooming in and out is a snap. If you've set the flash to a special setting, it will revert back to automatic after you've taken the picture, so you don't have to remember yourself.
The camera shuts off after about 2 minutes, to conserve the battery. And, you can't take a picture while the lens is covered, so no more "oops".
I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonable point and shoot, that has some added features.
