In case you're looking for a used camera, may I heartily recommend the Pronea 6i. While it has been replaced by the Pronea S series, it offers everything I've ever loved about Nikon.
The camera is solid, and feels solid. For people like myself with large hands, that's very important. It offers interchangeable lenses, and will work with many of the Nikon and Nikon-compatible intelligent lenses. (It'll also work with the non-intelligent lenses, but you'll need an external light meter - my only disappointment - it shouldn't be THAT difficult to use the internal meter with dumb lenses - the Nikkormat used to).
This is the first camera in a LONG time that I can say shows you what you're going to get on the print through the viewfinder. My experience has been that in the standard APS mode and in the "Classic" mode, what you see is exactly what you get. I've had a lot of disappointments in the past, but this is one wonderful camera.
For those of us who are so-so photographers, this is an extremely easy camera to use - the large display panel on the back offers many selections to tune your shots, or full automatic with very limited options if you prefer.
My experience with this camera is that I have gone from 1-2 good shots per roll to 10-15 - and it's mostly the camera. I know I haven't improved that much!! It's a wonderful tool for beginners and looks like it's got the potential to grow to fit all but the high-end professional's needs (and they aren't likely to be using APS since there isn't a huge range of film).
