Pros: Excellent sound for a coaxial

Cons: A bit more bass response would be welcome

When I needed a replacement for my stock 6x9s in my '88 Honda Accord, the choices I had truly overwhelmed me. Just look through the Crutchfield catalog sometime and try to choose. I was all set to go with either Pioneer or Kenwood (both EXCELLENT brands, to be sure) but found the Blaupunkt 693s on eBay for a paltry $59.00!! I'd never bought Blaupunkt before, but knew the name and their reputation for quality. I decided to chance it and bought and installed the speakers. What a difference! Clean tight bass (not anything like what you'd get from a subwoofer, but decent), solid mids, and excellent, sharp highs. I can crank these babies up real loud before I get distortion, and they sound just fine. Highly recommended!
