Pros: Great sound for little money.
Cons: Would have been even better if they had a high pass setting for the mid-range speakers.

| big-frank's Full Review: Rockford Fosgate FNP1514 Car Speaker |
I am currently using a set of Rockford Fosgate FNP1514 componets in my truck. To give you some background on how these are installed, I have a set of Q-Logic q-forms in my 1989 Gmc full size. I am powering the componets off of a Rockford Fosgate 100a2 and my head unit is an Alpine CDA-7850. Now for the review. With the setup that I am running, I like the way that these componets sound. With the included crossover for your tweeters (look like the two endbells of a RF amp put together) to the grills that come will all the FN series componets, all of it pieces together a great setup. From Rockford, the mid range does not have a crossover. For those of you who do not have any kind of subwoofers, this can be accepted, but for those of us who have subs... it can cause some some of the freq. to be hurt. Other then the fact that the componets have no high pass setting (like the higher end FNQ series), this can be easily done and cost effective. Rockford points out in their manuals that a 200mfd cap on the positive speaker line can block out freq. from 200 hz and below. For those of you who have your subs hitting low, Rockford shows that you can use a 500mfd cap to block 80hz and below. These capacitors can be bought from your local Radio Shack or maybe even you local stereo shop (they should run between 4 or 5 dollars a pop). If Rockford could have included a high pass filter in the FNP series componets, they would be rated the best that they can be. They come with speaker wire, two mid range speakers, two tweaters (with flush, angle, and swivel mounting hardware), two filters for the tweaters, screws, and grills. The sound vs money comparison on these componets are the best in their category.
