Note: This Epinion is written about the Sony CDX-1200, rather than the Sony CDX-2250 because this is the product I have knowledge of even though I couldn't find it listed here.**************************************************I originally had intended on purchasing another version of this Cd player, but when we brought it home and opened it, someone had returned it and switched the faces. So we bought this model for $40.00 more and it was definitely worth it.**************************************************The Sony CDX-1200 is an AM/FM digital audio Compact Disc Player with D-Bass. The stereo has a power amplifier featuring 45 watts per channel, having 4 channels=45w x 4. **************************************************The D-Bass button is for powerful Bass Boost and has 4 settings, Off, 1, 2, and 3. At the Off position, there is no bass. At one, minimal bass, up to 3 having the most Bass. IMO, 3 is best for those techno-dance stations, and Off is best for talk radio.**************************************************The Mode buton changes the stereo from FMI, FMII, FMIII, and AM. There are four bands with which to store your favorite stations, with 6 per band. In all that would be 24 stations you can preset, 18 for FM and 6 for AM.***************************************************The Source button is how you go back and forth between CD, or Stereo. This is also considered the power or On button. The Volume is also a button, not a knob, labeled with positive on top and negative on the bottom. The volume button also adjusts the bass and treble after you select the Sound button.**************************************************The Seek button lets you search for a specific station, or specific track on your Cd. The Eject button just does that, ejects the Cd. But if you don't pull the Cd out, after a second or two it will pull the Cd back in. (It took me a couple tries to figure this one out!)**************************************************My favorite feature is the beep sound when you push any button....no matter how many times you push it!! But you can turn the beep off by pressing 6 while you press the Sound button. To reverse this just do it again.**************************************************There is a SENS button and this is to adjust the sensitivity or store your favorite stations in order of their frequencies. The ATT button is like a half mute, but you can still hear the stereo or Cd lightly....like while at the drive-thru! Press it again and the sound returns to normal. The Off button is pretty basic...Off.**************************************************Some other features include SSIR-EX digital synthesizer tuner, and RCA preout x 1 for extra amplifier. This just means that if you want to add your own amp it will hook up to this type of stereo.***************************************************The Stereo comes with a complete set of instructions and wasn't too hard to install(according to my husband). I have had all the fun playing with it and I love it!! It makes everything sound good....I've even started listening to other kinds of music because they sound so good in my car now. ***************************************************The Sony CDX-1200 is very sleek and stylish, with a pearly aluminum color faceplate and glossy black trim. It looks very nice and sounds even better!!I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it to others in the market for a high quality car stereo.
