I bought this receiver on the recommendation of the salesperson at a leading home electronics store. I purchased it because I had heard that Denon was a leading name in home electronics and that there products were a good value for the money. I found that the set-up was very easy especially when using digital cables for my CD and DVD players. I especially like the learning remote that I used to learn my TV, VCR and CD player so I can use them all with one remote. A very special feature of the receiver is the memory it has when you set a certain sound field for a particular component. For example, I have it set to play 5 channel stereo when I play CD's or tapes. So whenever I choose my CD player or tape deck the receiver automatically changes to 5 channel stereo which plays music out of all 5 speakers of my surround system which greatly enhances the quality of the sound, especially on older recordings that aren't recorded in surround. When you change back to the VCR or DVD player the receiver automatically switches to either dolby pro-logic or dolby digital depending on the component. The seperation in 5.1 dolby digital is absolutely awesome.
The only drawback to this receiver is that you cannot turn off just the "A" speakers and play the aux. speakers. This is a detriment to my system because I have speakers thru-out the house and I can't play them just in one room. I would highly recommend this receiver to anyone looking for a high quality Dolby-Digital receiver without spending a fortune
