| scotth21's Full Review: JBL HLS810 Main / Stereo Speaker |
Whether watching a movie or listening to music these bookshelf speakers perform very well. They have horn tweeters which produce brilliant highs and 8" rear-ported woofers that put out booming bass. The woofer is made with a rubber surround rather than a cheaper foam surround too. The power handling is great (150 watts), I can crank up my receiver without them distorting. They work very well as front speakers for a surround sound setup or stereo speakers for all types of music (I listen to everything from classical to rap and I watch a lot of dvd's). These have been discontinued for the new Northridge series so if you can find them used for cheap I suggest purchasing them. I briefly owned the new model that replaced them (N28) and couldn't tell the difference, so I sold them and kept the HLS810's.
