Pros: Excellent sounding speaker, particularly for a street price of $150 or so
Cons: Doesn't have the punch of the larger models
The Bottom Line: Excellent sound for the money, blends well with other speakers.

| jimf42's Full Review: Polk Audio CS245 Center Speaker |
I bought my CS245i on ebay for 150 plus shipping (brand new). I read audio reviews on the various competition, talked to other and went with Polk because I thought it would mate well with the Celestions which I use for my main front speakers.
I use a Denon 3000 series HT DD receiver, which is very adjustable. With tuning and matching of outputs, the Polk fits in quite nicely, there is no harsh mismatching.
Anyway, the Polk is a very smooth speaker, with excellent sound for voices as well as effects. It is quite efficient and does not require much power to play loud for movies. It really gives a good sharp crack for the appropriate effects. I use a unpowered twin 10" sub with a Bryston amp...and it also fits in nicely with that unit.
The unit is reasonably nicely finished...but no fancy woods at this price. Most importantly, it blends in and does not look like a cheap box on top of your set.
I would definitely recommend it at this money, I believe you would have to spend double what I did to get a better model.
Important note, I do not use this for serious music listening, only for HT. I have a separate speaker system and amplifier set up for music.
