Really, the title says it all. I have spent years and years customizing my home theatre, and when it came time to buy a DVD player, I went and did my homework.
I could've spent $800 for gold-plated outputs, and higher bit-rate converters.
I could've saved $50 and not gotten DTS.
But frankly, I didn't want to do either. Sure, the verdict is still out on DTS, and no, I don't think it's a must-have, but for the price range difference, it was worth it.
And I could not see or hear the difference on my system with two other DVD players (a Sony and a Panasonic model, each priced around $600).
The remote control is pretty easy to use, even in the dark.
The only minor incompatibility I have seen is with the menuing for The Matrix - which DOES work, but I often have to push the buttons several times for a response, but I've heard this is a common problem with the DVD itself.
The SD-2109 has all the right features and outputs for your typical home theatre. In fact, it has it all for your far-above-average home theatre!
If you don't own a DVD player yet, for shame! Why wait? Get the Toshiba, and start enjoying movies in the presentation style they truly deserve.
