| Donnie013's Full Review: Panasonic PV-9668 VHS VCR |
When we had a surround sound system put in our house, we found out that our old VCR (about 8 years old) was not one made for stereo systems. Although our TV worked fine with the new system, our old VCR did not. We decided to buy a new one. Now to choose! After going to three stores and checking out all the models, we chose the Panasonic VCR+gold model (PV-9668). With tax, it came to just under $300.00 but as far as we are concerned, it is the cream of the crop.
This VCR has four metal heads, uses a universal remote (so if you break the one it comes with, you can just go buy another), has a built in automatic head cleaner, auto clock set (so if the power goes out and comes back on hours later, it resets itself), has various language capabilities (English, French, Spanish), has a Tape Position Detector (so you know just how much longer a picture will last) and front A/V input jacks. There are so many more features with this VCR, it might take me forever to list them all here.
In addition to the many excellent features, the quality of the picture is awesome. I have played tapes from years (and years) ago, and they look as good as they did (back then).
Upon command, this VCR will "mark" commercials as it records your picture, then when you replay your taped program, the VCR will "fast forward through the commercials" so you don't have to see THEM again!
As I said, this VCR does everything but write the script.
It's easy to operate and for the money, worth every penny.
