This vcr is loaded with features. It is worth every dime I spent for it. I was in the market for yet another vcr, I wanted one for the bedroom, and wanted something with a lot of features. One day I happened to be thumbing thru a catalogue and locked eyes with this one. :) This video playing monster of a vcr has:
4 head hi-fi stereo
on screen programming (easy set up or vcr+ programming)
auto clock set
child lock (lets parents control when the children can/cannot use vcr)
high speed rewind (rewinds in under 2 minutes)
energy star (energy saver - goes in energy saving mode when not in use)
When setting up the vcr, I had the option to set it in one easy step by pushing the easy set-up button or using the vcr+ programming. The vcr+ programming gives you the option to program the channels using universal code that most local stations in the country use. I used the easy one step button, that pretty much programs everything for you. The clock set itself from the cable box.
Once a program is taped it's really easy to zip right pass the commercials and slip passed things unwanted. This machine is really fast and user friendly. The remote control is large and universal and glows in the dark. The remote is also user friendly and the buttons are large and easy to handle.
While watching a video tape the counter on the vcr shows either how much time is left on the tape or how much time has lapsed. It doesn't matter if the tape is 6 hours long or 1 hour it senses the speed and length of the tape and adjusts accordingly to let the viewer gage the time. The vcr will even clean a tape if it has dust or anything on it. On the remote there is a display button when pushed it will tell you what television show is playing on the current channel. I think this vcr is on the top of the vcr list. Sony has done a fine job with this one.
