| StevieP's Full Review: Aiwa AM-F70 Personal MiniDisc Player |
I'd do anything to eliminate cassettes from my life, but I always liked being able to make and edit my own music mixes. Thank you Mini Disc!
With the mini disc there's no more rewinding, warping, or worn out cassettes, yet you have all the advantages of tapes and more. You can change the order of your songs, delete one or more selections at will, label the songs digitally and re-record over the discs forever with no loss of sound quality.
Always impressed with AIWA performance, style, and ease of use, I instantly choose the AM-570. The sleek design, and cool silver and blue colors are terrific! That alone could be reason to buy it. The head set and remote make me feel like I'm on Star Trek, and I love it!
The dials and functions are easy to use and learn. You'll need a good quiet hour with the manual but that should do it. I found the optical recording to be exact CD quality. The rechargeable battery is amazing! Charges quick, and lasts longer than I've ever needed it to.
I do wish it were a bit more durable and portable friendly. I had to invent a velcro clip to wear it to the gym! I mean...hello! What does AIWA think people are going to use this for...lounging on the sofa. If you plan to be active with it, you'll need to improvise a bit. I found it to perform very well though even on a bouncy stairmaster.
