I wish it had a PC interface. Aside from that...Good price. All the bells and whistles. No 'door' to mess with like the Sony. I bought my MS-702 in Dec 98 when shopping for the best all-round MD player. When I asked a salesman to help me compare the Sharp to any-thing Sony, the sales pitch was, "Well, Sony invented the MD technology, so they're pretty much the authority..." (Electronics sales staff were worthless, as I am a bit of an audio geek and know more about the MD technology than they've forgotten, so I was on my own in my decision.)
Anyway, I really liked the physical operation of the device as it is like a disk drive instead of those typical walkman-style doors that are so delicate. Recording and editing is a breeze, with added ease of use when using the SYNCHRO setting and/or the included optical cable.
Entering disk and track names is a pain, but such is the nature of any MD w/o a computer interface.
2 thumbs up!
