I just got my minidisc bundle this past oct. 99. The best things about the minidisc system is the fact you can get true digital sound with 74 mins of music on a disc smaller then a floppy disk. The sound in some ways is better than a CD. Right now the main draw back to the MD is the price of blanks. With MD's you can carry 2 to 3 times the amount of music with you in about half the space of CD's. As the MD' become more common the price of blanks should drop. My only hope is that quality of the blanks will remain up to Sony's high quality. Other pros are the fact the
MD's are almost unbreakable under normal use. They are also able to withstand high temps. Unskipping within reason, that not to say that is you set out to make it skip you can't, it can be done it just takes a lot of effort. The ability to shuffle track mean you can charge the play-list without re-recording the disk. The MD's also have a table of contents feature so you can have the play-list of your disk always the the digital display control. Overall the MD's are the future and the future is now.
