The MZ-R37 is the only minidisc player that I have had experience with, but I am definitely more than satisfied. It has the same functions as more expensive models, but costs much less. The only real difference is the size.

The sound quality is flawless. If it sounds good when you record it, then it will sound good when you play it back. Minidiscs are more durable than CDs and smaller. You can also record music from your computer. That means any music you want.

It is very simple to record and play music and it takes no more time than what you are recording. The only disadvantage is that I had to make a cord to record from a CD player. It only comes with a digital recording cable.

I bought mine new on EBay for way under retail price. I would recommend this method. I have had no problems.
