| johnnybegone's Full Review: Sony Walkman MZ-R37SP Personal MiniDisc Player |
I spent 2 months preparing for which minidisc player to buy. I knew it had to have these following features: player/recorder, 40 sec. Antishock,
small and lightweight, good battery life, and inexpensive. I guess I'm done looking because I bought the MZ-R37.
This little unit is all you will ever need. It has all of the above mentioned stuff and I got mine for only $180. This is great because I'm a starving college student and do not have $400 to spend on the latest minidisc player out there. But I wanted to change over from CD's to MD format and this player is perfect. You can even record concerts with a computer mic, but I would recommend going out and getting a nice mic for better quality. Plus, you can hook it up to your computer and record MP3's, etc.
There was a drawback when I purchased the unit. It was the MZ-R37 SP which I guess means it is "special" or something. I opened it up only to discover that it did not include a remote or AC adapter. Bummer, but I guess that explains the low price. I ended up buying both from Sony, and it cost me around $240 anyways, so if you DO find a unit that has both for this price, pick it up.
You won't be sorry with your decision...well...that is until they come out with a newer format...like MINI-mini-disc. hehe
