Pros: attractive, great sound
Cons: volume could be higher, not much storage
The Bottom Line: its barely worth its price. pretty easily upgraded and operated. great battery life. im impressed with it overall but if it werent for that steep price it would be perfect.

| jkuusi8257's Full Review: Rio PMP-500 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
i bought this mp3 player at 800.com for 250$ not too long ago. i was pretty excited about the 64mb of ram in this mp3 compared to alot of others that were already out at 32 or 16mb. but once you get going and downloading more and more music and want to put all of it on your rio, you finally come acrossed the fact that 64mb isnt all that much. actually, just enough to hold about 15-20 regular length songs. which might just be perfect for some, but not for all. but that memory problem was quickly resolved when i could just get a 64mb card at amazon.com for about 50$. and the volume issue can be fixed using the firmware upgrade which can be found at rioport.com. you also HAVE to have this upgrade to be able to run an additional 64mb card. without it, the maximum memory is expandable to a meir 96mb. other than that i love this product and would recommend it to a friend. (but only if the price went down a tad). but the main feature i want to tell you all about is that it can last for a whopping 13 hours on just two AA batteries.
