[P.S. As a career submariner, I spent many moons up in your neck of the woods. You have some of the best seafood restaurants around.]

I think this is for the most part true. Most cable companies have a monopoly.
The fact is, though, that they have to start considering satellite television as competition. It's become inexpensive, widely available and entirely competitive in channel lineup.
It even has something called "good sound" and "good picture" (perish the thought)!

but you know what. I haven't read one review on epinions where people are happy
with the cable service in their area. Maybe they all get away with schlocky service because they have a monopoly in their area.
