I can't really describe my experience using this product, since Comcast refuses to even provide me with service. I can, however, tell you about my experience with their "customer service" (and I use that term loosely) department.
I moved into an apartment with my boyfriend about a month ago. I'm not a big television fan, so I set up the television right away. We live in a really dense/urban area, so the reception with the antenea is not very good. We decided to order basic cable.
My boyfriend filled out their online request for service form and was sent an email stating that since there was an outstanding balance at our address, Comcast would not be providing us with any service. I called in to explain that we had just moved into the apartment and any balance must have been left by the previous tenant. The operator told me to fax in a copy of my lease and then they would talk to me. He put me on hold while he got the fax number where I could send the lease. I was left on hold for thirty minutes and then was cut-off.
I will admit that I was pretty enraged that I was left on hold for that long just to be cut off, but I figured that maybe they were just busy and I'd call back. I called back and this time I was connected with a very rude woman who told me that the only way I could get service was to physically come into their office and give them: a copy of my lease, copies of all my utilities, and two forms of picture ID. At that point, since I had been given conflicting information, I asked to speak to a manager. I was put on hold for another thirty minutes and then cut off.
I've called several times since and each time I've been put on hold and then cut off. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and my local Franchise Authority. It's unbelievable how badly I've been treated and I'm so fed up with them that despite the fact that I don't want anything but the networks, I'm planning on ordering DirecTV.
