Being a college student, I have been exposed to a lot of beer in the last 4 years...and I don't mean just Bud, or Icehouse:). This beer is up there in my top 10 list. I especially like Anchor steam, though I have tried most of the companies brews.
I like this particular brew because it isn't too bitter, and has a full flavor and a wonderful aroma. There are other excellent beers brewed by this company, but Anchor Steam is the one I like best. I really can't find any bad things to say about this beer.
Taste is a personal thing so, obviously some aren't going to like the taste of this beer. It deffinetly isn't a tastless pale ale, but that is a good thing, isn't it? As for my first experience with the Anchor Steam company, I was first exposed to Anchor Steam at a Phish show. A girl was selling it out of a cooler, and I was immediately hooked to this wonderful, California born beer.
Try it, enjoy it, love it. It is worth your money and your trip to the store. Pour your glass full, watch the head rise, take a long deep sniff, and wash down a steak and baked potataoe with it. You'll love it! You'll be hooked after one sip, as I was some 3 years ago.
