I have been a citibank visa holder for over seven years, and what have I received by way of benefits and service, absolutely nothing. I received my card after responding to a preapproved offer in my college post office box in the beginning of 1993. I started off with a $600.00 credit line which I understand is normal for college students. During college I received increases of another $600.00 for a total of $1200 worth of credit. Since then I have received nothing in return, no more credit line increases and no decreased APR.
Now, I would understand this if I had bad credit or late payments but I have, in over seven years, never been late, I pay off my full balance frequently and my credit is excellent. I am now 25 years old make about $100,000 a year and Citibank refuses to up my credit line and only lowered my interest rate after I threatened to close my account. I have an MBNA platinum plus card with a $10,000 limit and an interest rate of %12 that I pay off in full every month. I have only had this card for a year and this company treats me as if I am their only customer. I have called Citibank and written letters of my disapproval of their service and they have done guess what??!! Absolutely nothing. So, basically Citibank, thanks for nothing, and I will now absolutely leave the card to rest in peace right next to Jimmy Hoffa
