Is there a category for ABSOLUTELY MOST HATED? Ok, so I'm more than angry and writing review #2 about Cross Country Bank. I sure hope I won't get time out for this one...
To begin with, Cross Country Bank is on my hated list (or should be). Customer Service is the absolute worst I've EVER experienced. Let me list a few (yes only a few, for you haven't enough time for all) of the complaints:
1) Cross Country Bank charges $0.50 for each inquiry after the first of each month (you get one free inquiry), that is not each phone call guys, that's each inquiry (wanna know your balance? Inquiry #1, oh yeah, last payment date? Inquiry #2, payment due? Inquiry #3.....) Before you know it you will have reached your credit limit...
2) Cross Country Bank prides itself in increasing your credit if you're credit worthy (after you pay their high interest rate), for only a $100.00 one time fee....can you believe that bargain? You get a $250.00 credit increase and they only charge $100.00....Look out Donald Trump, I'm on my way to riches.
3) How about that statement you didn't get? Well, just call Cross Country Bank and they'll be happy to make one available to you at a reduced cost of $3.00. The computer said it went out, therefore, it went, the rest is your problem. Even if you've been with them (doesn't say much for my level of intelligence) for four years and have NEVER asked for a copy. Wanna save the three bucks? That's all right, you don't need to know WHY they say you've gone to the credit limit, do you? Who cares anyway! They don't.
4) How about they only charge a reduced rate of $5.00 to take your payment by phone? Wow....at this point I've charged, let me see, how much? Forget Macy's, Riches or anyone else, I've been shopping at Cross Country...
5) Hey, let's log on to their web site. It's secure, it's fast! Yeah, right. It's a bunch of "grapes". I tried creating an user account for three days and it kept telling me that I don't know MY OWN birthday. I called them (nope, you're wrong, no 800 number, long distance)and they verified that my guess at my birth date was correct - but hold on, I called customer service, not the internet guys... so, off we go to long distance dialing land again - well, they have a different birth date and guess what, I should mail my birth certificate in order to get it corrected, because I just don't know what I'm talking about (yes, I verified EVERYTHING else, including the number of fillings in my teeth!!!) By the way, was there a logout on that site?
6) Oh, let me not forget that they're available, by phone up until 11:30 pm EST. Don't get too excited though, they're out to dinner the entire time and all you do is hold until they take a breather from break.
Hey, but not all is bad guys, there's a lovely recording playing, the entire time you hold, listing all of these bargains for you, over and over...and over...and over....again.....
When am I paying them off for all these luxuries? Tomorrow -just as soon as the bank and post office opens. It will be a certified bank check and a certified mail letter. None less for me.
