Pros: Good deposit rates, convenient.
Cons: Unacceptable customer service, questionable business practices and lack of identity controls.
The Bottom Line: Stay away. Your identity and financial security are in question with this bank. There are others that will strive to secure your identity and assets, just not as convenient.

| onator123's Full Review: TCF National Bank Minnesota |
TCF Bank simply is not a secure place to keep your money, Period. On countless visits I have walked up to a teller, presented a personal check and have walked away with cash without ever showing ID nor entering a PIN number. This is simply unacceptable. In today's world I should have to show an ID for entering the branch let alone making a withdrawl. So what prevents anyone else from walking into the bank and cashing one of my personal checks? Nothing my Dad and I tried it and it worked. They cashed a personal check made out to me but gave it to my father.
As far as convenient they are impossible to beat. Locations open 7 days a week and a ATM network at about ever other corner. Add to that the rediculiously high interest rates they pay on standard DDA check accounts it's hard to beat (3.00%). But is the trade off of bad customer service, management policies and procedures that put your money and identity in jeopardy worth that extra interest rate, you alone will have to decide that.
Visit any branch on a busy Friday or a weekend and you will have to wait. Although there are always 6 teller windows and 6 plus new accounts desks they never have more than two of each opened and staffed. cannot quite figure out why they pay the footage fee for a section of building that never gets used?
