Pros: Friendly tellers,free checking
Cons: Watch where your money goes
The Bottom Line: Don't go there unless you know all about banking before you get there. You'll be paying them the rest of your life like I will.

| jaqulyn53's Full Review: U.S. Bancorp |
When I first moved to Pueblo I needed a bank so I could get direct deposit on my Social Surety check. I didn't really have time to shop around too much and US Bankcorp was really close to where I lived.
I didn't ask a lot of questions because I was in a hurry as usual. I was told about the free checking and that sounded good enough for me. The banks back home didn't offer free checking so I felt like I had made a good choice.
The one thing that I didn't understand was something the lady said about over draft protection. It seams anyone that joins their bank gets it. If you have automatic deposit, you automatically get $3000.00 in over draft protection. I had never even heard of such a thing so had no idea what she was talking about.
When I got my first bank statement from US Bankcorp it said I still had $199.99 in it. I went to the bank to find out how I managed to have this much money in my account as I know that my bills run pretty close to the amount I get each month.
It seams that I had an over draft of one penny so they automatically put $200.00 of my over draft protection in my account. Well, when your on disability and haven't had a penny to your name for nine years, this can seam like a great deal.
After that it seamed like every month I must have goofed up because every month there was more money added to my account. I'm now over $3000.00 in dept to US Bank. I can't get it paid off because every time I get $200.00 of it paid off they put it back in my account.
I'm now paying almost a hundred dollars a month because I got stupid. I will probably be in dept to them the rest of my life. I can't change banks to start over and just pay them off because they wont release my checks.
Would I recommend them to anyone else? Only if they aren't from a small town and know the big city ways. If I had it to do over again I would have savings only (at another bank).
