Pros: Very innovative. Great graphics and sound. Many places to destroy. A guilty pleasure.
Cons: The game ends a little early, but the final challenge could keep you coming back. No rumble pak support (but the rumble pak didn't come out until a month after this game was released).

| Shaunpm60's Full Review: Blast Corps for Nintendo 64 |
You may have heard of this game or not. This game never recieved any recognition by the way of advertising, but almost every video game critic loved it. I couldn't see why a game like this, being so original and fun, never made it big.
Blast Corps. is pretty much a one-of-a-kind game. It features destroying buildings, clearing paths, puzzle solving elements, racing, and a lot more! The basic game is that you have to clear a path for a runaway nuclear missile truck, or all hell breaks loose. To clear a path, you'll have to destroy buildings, move vehicles, and fill in holes. Some areas will give you plenty of time, while later stages can be a real pain (Oyster Harbor is pretty much the hardest, unless you know what to do). Between clearing paths, you'll also be able to open side-stages that will either have you race laps, destroy X buildings in Y amount of time, or other unusal things.
Even though this is one of the first N64 games, graphically, it's still impressive. Vehicles are rendered great, and the environments are nice. The only drawback is the camera and the perspective. Not too many people are looking for a top-down game, they want full 3-D. To an extent, it is. The perspective actually makes the game look better. No flat trees or objects, it's 3-D.
The sound is great also. Sure, the music is a little akward, but you should hear the explosions through a stereo. Your neighbors will wonder what you're doing in there! The voices can get a little tiresome, since the phrases are limited (but so did Mario).
The control is varied by vehicle, but overall, it's easy to use for a fast paced game like this.
The game itself will last you ahwile, but can end a bit soon. Don't worry, because when you beat everything, your then left with an extreme challenge on your hands. If you haven't played this yet, I won't spoil the last challenge.
I really liked this game when I first bought it. I was hooked for days destroying buildings, and unlocking everything. The best part about this game now, is that you can buy it used for less than $10. If you ever come across this game, buy it!
