Our GE washing machine finally bit the dust a few weeks ago. I had bought it during Desert Storm which makes it about 10 years old. It quit spinning and I got tired of having to wring out clothes by hand before putting them in the dryer which is about 10 years old and on it’s last leg too.
I have been pleased with GE products so my husband and I returned to the same store where our other washing machine had been purchased.
We were offered several brands of machine but decided to stick with GE. Later that day, a GE Profile(2000) washing machine was delivered to our home.
What a nice machine! The GE Profile is slightly more compact than my old machine. It measures 26.75 inches wide by 25.75 inches deep and stands 36 inches tall.
It is pristine white and so far has been easy to keep clean. I just wipe it down with a wash cloth that is going into the wash at the same time.
This GE washing machine has 5 knobs on the top of it.
1) Load Size ( Small, Medium, Large & Super)
2) Wash Spin ( Gentle/Slow, Gentle Fast & Normal Fast
3) Temperature ( Cold/Cold, Warm/Cold and Hot/Cold
4) Extra Rinse
5) Clothing Type
a) cottons ( light soil, medium, heavy, extra heavy, 15 and 30 min. auto soaks)
b) easy care ( permanent press/knits)
c) delicates ( undies and other delicate fabrics)
This machine also has bleach and fabric softener dispensers. I have used both dispensers and while the bleach dispenser is one that I use when doing whites, the fabric softener dispenser still leaves the clothes less soft than I like so I have forgo using it and just use fabric softener sheets as before.
This machine's tub size make it nice for doing bed spreads, blankets and at least 2 loads of sheets. I have even washed a sleeping bag in it.
My clothes seem cleaner since I began using this machine. This tells me that my old machine was definitely on its last leg before it stopped spinning.
I am pleased with the over all use of this machine and would recommend this GE product to anyone in the market for a new washing machine.
