| mkrawczak's Full Review: Weber-Stephen Products Genesis Gold C Premium (LP)... |
I purchased the Weber Genesis Gold C Grill this August and have been waiting for cold weather in order to complete my assessment of the product. Well, very cold weather has arrived so here it goes
I have the natural gas version of the grill and have been very pleased with the operation of the unit. The grill heats evenly and gets very hot (even when outdoor temps are into single digits). I had researched every type of Grill available and wanted a unit that could obtain high temps in order to sear meats. Infrared grills are the best at searing however based upon the cost to value I decided to go with the Webber. I hooked a PID Controller to the grill (A high-tech thermometer) and it topped out at 848 degrees F after having all three burners on high for 5 min. The side burner also performs to my expectations allowing me to deep fry foods even during recent cold weather.
The grill is durable, easily cleaned and consistent in cooking whether cooking with low, high or indirect heat. Cooking with this grill has been an enjoyable experience and one it is one of the best purchases made this year.
I also purchased the cast iron griddle and the clamp style rotisserie and have found both work very well and have made this grill my main cooking appliance (my indoor stoves are jealous).
Stick with the stainless cooking grids (they get very hot and clean easily and do not rust like the warming basket and shelf have)
